We’re so excited to celebrate our big day with all of you on August 16th, 2025, at Ktaadn Resorts in Millinocket, Maine. Whether you’re here for the love or the party, we promise a weekend to remember.

Our Love Story

It all began in Portland, Maine—our home and the city where we fell for each other. Our first date started at the Top of the East and ended hours later with a first kiss at The Snug. We slid home across snowy streets, knowing something special had just started.

Fast forward through countless ski weekends, spontaneous getaways, and deep conversations, and here we are—planning the next big adventure. Along the way, Kelley helped BJ fall in love with high-quality reality television, and BJ helped Kelley fall in love with the Red Sox. True love, right?

For the proposal, BJ brought it all back to where it began: the Top of the East. But this time, he went big—like, Portland skyline big. The Time & Temperature Building displayed a message in it’s iconic 8 character limit: “MRRY ME K.”

As Kelley walked up to a window at the restaurant to read the message that shined over Portland, BJ dropped to one knee, and the rest is history (caught on camera, of course)

The Location

Ktaadn Resorts, Home of New England Outdoor Center - "NEOC," is comprised of Twin Pine Cabins, the River Drivers Restaurant, and Knife Edge Brewing, located on Millinocket Lake with endless mountain range views of Katahdin, Maine’s tallest mountain, providing a stunning backdrop for our weekend.

The resort includes high-end lakeside cabins, providing easy access to beaches with exceptional mountain views! With the on-site lodging accommodations, two restaurants, guided adventures, and endless activities, you may even decide to extend your stay past the weekend’s festivities.

  • Friday, August 15th

    Lodging Check-In
    Check-in time at the resort is 3 pm, though sometimes it is possible to have cabins open up earlier in the day.

    Welcome Drinks
    Join us at Knife Edge Brewing to kick off the weekend festivities. Enjoy Millincoket’s premier beverages paired with wood-fired oven pizza.

    Saturday, August 16th

    The Ceremony
    The ceremony will be held at the shore of Millinocket Lake within the main resort grounds with the stunning Katahdin backdrop.

    Reception
    Celebrate the occasion with us over good food and great music at the Ktaadn Resorts Event Center.

  • Travel Details:
    The nearest airport is Bangor International Airport (BGR). The resort is roughly 90 minutes north of Bangor and three and a half ours north of Portland.

    Driving Directions:
    Exit 244 off I-95. Take Route 11/157 west towards Millinocket. Follow 157 and signs to Baxter State Park. The resort is located 8 miles out of town on Millinocket Lake. If you pass North Woods Trading Post, you've gone too far.

    GPS: Many GPS systems have outdated maps and incorrect addresses. Depending on the system you use, here are a few options.

    1. The New England Outdoor Center - NEOC | Twin Pines | River Driver's Restaurant

    2. If 30 Twin Pines Rd, Millinocket does not turn up on your GPS or phone, we suggest entering in 160 Bates Street, Millinocket, ME, 04462. This is the last general store you will pass on your way to us. Once you get to 160 Bates Street address - drive an additional 8 miles straight, and turn right onto Blackcat Road. Follow the Blackcat Rd for one mile to reach Twin Pines, NEOC and the River Driver's Restaurant.


    Lodging:
    The resort offers full amenity cabins offer options that meet every budget and taste. You can choose from green built eco-friendly lodges, to a traditional Maine style cabin. Cabins and lodges can sleep from 6 -14 people. 

    We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the New England Outdoor Center for your stay. A two-night minimum is required, so plan for a weekend of fun and relaxation in the Maine wilderness.

    Getting Around
    We will have a shuttle that runs from Knife Edge Brewing to the resort on Friday and from the resort to the event center on Saturday.
